This year's Alfajor World Championship award was won by the Argentine artisan brand Quiero, for its triple-filled alfajor with dulce de leche, peanut ganache and dipped in semisweet chocolate.

The Argentinian brand of artisan alfajores Quiero won this year the World Championship of Alfajor with its triple alfajor stuffed with dulce de leche, peanut ganache and bathed in semi-sweet chocolate.

This alfajor, which is completely handmade, does not contain preservatives and its peanut butter is homemade, pays homage to the Argentine national soccer team.

“We started with a lot of effort in 2021 and we kept changing recipes until the last minute,” Yanina Acosta and Maximiliano Santos, winners of the second edition of this international competition, told Télam.

This alfajor, which is not sold in kiosks, is made to order by this couple in the city of Campana, in the province of Buenos Aires, and their Instagram account @alfajores.quiero is their main means of dissemination.

This Quiero alfajor recipe was chosen by a panel of experts made up of alfajor influencers, chefs, pastry chefs, food engineers, specialists in sensory analysis, and journalists.

In this competition, in which creators of alfajores from Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, Paraguay, Peru, Canada and the United States participated, they delivered prizes in 19 categories, such as white chocolate, dark chocolate, simple alfajor, three-layer, traditional, exotic or cornstarch, among others.

The Alfajor World Championship is the first event intended to reward the efforts of companies to provide consumers with the best alfajores, of the highest quality, made with recipes passed down from generation to generation and using the purest ingredients.

It takes place in the city of Buenos Aires and its first edition took place in August 2022. Alfajore manufacturers from all over the world can participate.
