This event will be held on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, in the historic center of Río Caribe, capital of the Arismendi municipality, in the state of Sucre.
This Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, the IV Pariano Cocoa and Chocolate Festival will be held in Río Caribe, Arismendi municipality, an event that will bring together producers and processors of this fruit from the states of Sucre, Monagas, and Nueva Esparta to present their achievements and products.
According to local media, the participation of some 500 cocoa farmers and 60 entrepreneurs in the production of products from cocoa has been confirmed.
As for the scheduled programming, the cocoa harvest will be blessed, an artisanal corridor will be inaugurated, a historical tour of Venezuelan cocoa will be carried out, training activities, forums, business roundtables, basic chocolate workshops, exhibitions, tastings and sale will be held. of artisanal products made by local companies and enterprises.
Local cultural music and dance groups will also perform at this event, and sports activities will take place.
The coordinator of the festival, Carmen Delacoste, highlighted that this event, whose purpose is to make cocoa producers visible, has generated since its first celebration in 2017 the emergence of chocolate companies in the region, and promoted the tourist movement in Río Caribe, whose hotel capacity, he told local media, is full for this weekend.
For his part, another of the organizers of this festival, Carlos Guerra, told local media that cocoa is part of Parian culture, territorially comprised of the Arismendi, Benitez, Libertador, Mariño and Valdez municipalities of Sucre state, an area where it generates 53% of the country's cocoa production.
This event is resumed in its fourth edition after two years of being postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. In 2019 its third edition was held.
