Today is National Chocolate Day, a date that is not yet official in the country, but that Venezuelan chocolatiers celebrate every June 8 since 2016.

This day, which coincides with the date on which a chocolate factory is registered for the first time in the country, The IndiaWas proposed by Fundación Nuestra Tierra (Fundatierra) to highlight the work of the country's chocolatiers.

In May 2022, the president of Fundatierra, Leudys González, formally requested the National Assembly to declare June 8 National Chocolate Day.

Chocolate Day has been celebrated in the world since 1995 every September 13 in homage to the British writer Roald Dahl, author of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and who was born that day but in the year 1916.
