The jury of the National Chocolate Contest, a competition that was part of the Expoferia Cacao y Ron Miranda 2022, awarded to the Margarita brand Delirio first and second place for its bars of dark origin and second place for its bars of origin with milk.
The jury of the 2022 National Chocolate Contest announced on the third day of the Expoferia Cacao y Ron Miranda 2022 the winners of this Creole chocolate competition in the categories of artisan dark chocolate bars, milk chocolate bars and bars with natural flavors.
The first prize in the dark chocolate bars category was obtained by the artisan brand from Margarita of fine pralines and chocolate Delirio.
"Officially Margarita has the best dark chocolate in Venezuela," the chocolatier posted on her Instagram stories after learning the results of the contest.
Second place in this category was also won by Delirio for its El Negrito de Sucre dark chocolate.
While the third place was awarded to the Choco Di Gatti brand, and the fourth award was given to the Sublime 9 and Época brands.
The Valle Canoabo brand received a special mention for its dark chocolate bar.
In the milk chocolate bars category, the Cata Cacao chocolate brand won first prize, while Delirio Chocolate won second.
And in the category bars with natural infusions, Chocolates Petra won first and second prize with two of its chocolate bars, one for Cruzado milk, mixed with lemon balm and sarrapia; and another for the white Prima, mixed with cloves and sarrapia.
The third prize was obtained by the chocolate brand 20/20 for its white bar with passion fruit, and the Dacao Group fourth place for its dark chocolate bar with Carúpano rum.
For this competition, which was part of the activities of the Expoferia Cacao y Ron Miranda 2022, 59 chocolatiers participated, five of them industrial brands and the rest artisanal.
