Dulce de leche with chocolate

With this recipe you will learn how to add the flavor of chocolate to our classic Venezuelan dulce de leche.


  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1/2 kilo of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 pinches of baking soda
  • dark chocolate powder


  1. This recipe is going to be prepared in two parts. First, heat half of all the ingredients except the dark chocolate powder and beat until thick.
  2. When it thickens and comes off the bottom of the pot, lower the heat and continue beating until the paste becomes hard.
  3. Remove the pasta from the pot and place it on a greased Formica board and roll it over while it is still hot. It is cut into squares.
  4. Repeat the operation with half of the ingredients but this time add chocolate powder to the milk. These pieces are joined together and the two-color preserves remain. To taste.
