Miranda cocoa farmers receive training

Producers from the Acevedo municipality participated in learning sessions on cocoa transformation, agronomic management and legal advice.

Cocoa producers from the La Maroma parish, Acevedo municipality, Miranda state, received a training session in the areas of cocoa transformation, agronomic management and legal advice.

“The purpose of the conference was to promote productive capacities in the point and circle, through peasant organization and comprehensive and permanent training. La Maroma has more than 200 producers and agricultural producers, willing to improve their production to contribute to food sovereignty," said Nora Delgado, director of the office for Afro-descendants of Miranda state, quoted in a press release.

Likewise, he took the opportunity to mention that in the town of Cartanal, Independencia municipality, a planning and systematization day was carried out through its Training School for the Strengthening of Popular Power, whose purpose is to teach the communities tools for their empowerment and participation in projects that allow their collective growth.

The activity was carried out through the Secretariat for Afro-descendants of the Miranda Governor's Office together with the Venezuelan Cocoa Corporation, the National Land Institute (INTI) and members of the Miranda Food and Agriculture Staff.
